Game Concept

The Dark FM is an audio-first horror game with OVER 57 MINUTES of original content. That's less than four cents per minute. Astonishing. The game consists of three key parts:

  • scary stories with voice acting, sound effects, and atmosphere
  • music stations with original tracks
  • sound machine with nature sounds, story sounds, etc

The Dark FM is designed specifically for the Playdate Dock (as a longer, audio-only experience). Everything is paired with over a dozen unique screen savers and clock faces, making it a perfect companion for the dock and any nightstand.

Worker-owned Game

The Dark FM is a 100% worker-owned game, which means that all the authors and musicians who contributed actually own a proportional slice of the game.

More details are coming soon, but here's the short of it: we'll total up all the minutes of original audio, do the math, and split 100% of the title's ownership among the team. Clark from Superfun Games is doing the Playdate development, pro bono. Ownership will be completely determined on contributed audio minutes.
